My plan
Well my plan for getting ready for this mudder is to hire Mike Tyson and have him just rain punches on me for the next several months, I figured that should toughen me up or just kill me. But after looking at my bank account I realized the only Tyson I can afford comes in the form of chicken at the grocery store. So my new plan is as follows. I work out at least four times a week at try to do something active on the non-work out days. I have started jogging, and I am jogging about 2.5miles. I found that running for 3min then walking for 2min helps build my way up to full on running in about a week or so. I have used this method before, by slowly build up from running/walking I was able to get myself to the point of running a half marathon (but that was a few years ago now I am back to the basics). I also like using my kettlebell to work the rest of my body, abs, arms, legs, core. My buddy dj domino has some work equipment so we will use that as well to help mix things up. I haven't changed my diet to much, I am going to make small changes, like limit how often I eat fast food, limit my sweets(cakes, candy bars, etc), I have already cut things like soda and mayo out of my diet. I am hoping small changes makes it easier for me to keep with it, rather then going all hardcore and eat nothing but tofu. I would like to get a bicycle to help with some of the cardio/weight loss, after seeing gozo success, it has got me jonesin for a bike. I did weight my self and I am tipping the cattle scale at 259. hoping to lose about 40lbs, but I don't have a solid time line for this. I really not going to focus on just losing weight. I have seen skinny people who can't run more then 5 feet with out the help of a police dog chasing them. Looking to improve muscle tone and increase my cardio, if I lose weight in the process then bonus. well that my plan, but you know what they say about best laid plans of mice and men. So what are the rest of you guys doing to get ready for this mudder?
